Membership Policy

Welcome to Play Squash Academy at our Columbia location.
As a private club, we are committed to providing a professional, respectful, and world-class squash environment. These membership policies are designed to protect the quality of the member experience and ensure fairness for all.

1. Membership Eligibility

• Membership is open to individuals and families who agree to follow all club rules, policies, and code of conduct.
• All membership applications are subject to approval by Play Squash Academy Management.
• Management reserves the right to approve, deny, or terminate memberships at its sole discretion.

2. Membership Types

• Individual Membership – Access to squash courts, member programming, and club amenities.
• Family Membership – Access for the primary member, spouse, and dependent children under age 18.
• Junior Membership – Access for juniors under age 18, primarily for training and junior programming participation.

Note: Junior members (minors) are not permitted to participate in adult round robins except when playing with a parent or family member.

3. Membership Benefits

• Court Reservations: 45-minute court bookings, 7 days a week (subject to membership type).
• Member-Only Events: Round robins, ladders, and social play.
• Discounts: Reduced rates on lessons, clinics, tournaments, and pro shop purchases.
• Facilities: Access to squash courts, fitness facilities, showers, lockers, and lounge areas.

4. Court Booking & Usage

• Members must follow club court booking guidelines.
• Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance to avoid a no-show penalty.
• Proper squash attire is required:
  • Non-marking court shoes
  • Protective eyewear (mandatory for juniors)
  • Approved squash racquet

5. Membership Fees & Payments

• Initiation Fee: $500 (non-refundable; required upon joining).
• Commitment Term: Membership requires a minimum 12-month commitment. Early termination will result in a charge equal to one month of membership dues.
• Billing: Membership dues are billed monthly or annually based on the plan selected.
• Payments: All payments must be made on time to maintain active membership status.

6. Guest Policy

• Guests are welcome with prior approval and a $20 guest fee per visit.
• Members are responsible for ensuring guests follow all club rules and etiquette.

7. Code of Conduct

Members must:

• Treat other members, guests, and staff with courtesy and respect.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship and fair play.
• Maintain the cleanliness and care of club facilities.
• Avoid disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior.

Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of membership at management’s discretion.

8. Cancellation & Suspension

• Cancellations require 30 days’ written notice.
• Membership may be placed on hold for medical reasons or extended travel with written request and management approval.

9. Communication

• Official notices regarding schedules, events, and policy changes will be sent via email and posted on the club's website.
• Members are responsible for ensuring their contact information is up to date.

10. Acknowledgement

By becoming a member of Play Squash Academy – Columbia, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Membership Policy.
