Play Squash Academy is dedicated to the progress of every Squash player – beginner to advanced, juniors through adults. We have the most qualified coaching staff in the DMV and we consistently host the top names in the Squash World at our tournaments, camps, and special events.

And so it is with great pride that we welcome the newest member of our Coaching Staff:

As a top Mexican Squash player, Sergio trained mostly in Mexico and competed heavily in the World tour as a junior player, including Professional Squash Association. His highest world ranking was 189. He started his coaching career when he was 19 years old, coaching in different cities of Mexico. In 2007 he was appointed as a Head Coach of the Guatemala squash team. Sergio was with the Guetamlla team till 2012. He helped the team to get to the World Championships, Pan American Tournament, British Open, US Open, Scottish Open, and Canadian Junior Open.

Sergio moved to the US in 2012, landed an opportunity to coach in Baltimore at the Meadow Mill Athletic Club. During his time in Baltimore, he also coached the John Hopkins Squash team. Sergio is in the DC metro area since 2012, working out of different clubs, but now he has found a permanent home @ PLAY SQUASH ACADEMY. Play Squash Academy is very excited to have him on board. He will be working out of our two locations, McLean and Tysons. Sergio is an experienced tournament coach for players of all ages and all levels of play. He has developed numerous student-athletes at private clubs in the DC metro area.
 
Sergio has completed his coaching certification in the USA and at the World level. He is also a certified fitness trainer.
